How can I start using your services?
This is a reminder that this page is for you if you already purchased Geonode’s services and want to know how to start using them. If you want a guide on how to purchase our services, you can check it out here.
The main focus of this page is to guide users on the usage of the proxy service, however, it can also be used by users of the Scraper. The first few steps for obtaining API credentials can be found on the home page of the dashboard.

Step 1. Go to Geonode, log in with your existing account, or sign up to create a new one.

Step 2. On the Home Page, click on “Click on Unlimited Residential or Pay as you go Residential, depending on which service you bought.”.

Step 3. Scroll down until you see “Endpoints”.

Step 4. Choose which “Proxy Protocol” you want to utilize: “HTTP Protocol” or “SOCKS5 Protocol”.

Step 5. Select which Session Type you want to utilize: “Rotating Proxy” or “Sticky Proxy”.

Step 6. Choose which proxy you want to utilize. For example purposes, we’ll be using the highlighted proxy “premium-residential.geonode.com:9001”.
If you want to use an IP address instead of a DNS, simply turn off the Show DNS button, and IP addresses will show up.

Step 7. Now you need your proxy account’s “Authentication Details”. For Geonode, this is on your account’s home page. You can simply click on the “Copy” icon to get your username and password.
Now, what you need to follow depends on your operating system. If you have Windows follow “Window’s Proxy Settings”, if you have a mac follow “macOS’s Proxy Settings”, if you have an iPhone follow “iPhone’s Proxy Settings”, and if you have an Android follow “Android’s Proxy Settings”.
Windows’s Proxy Settings

Step 1. In Window’s search bar, type in “Proxy Settings”.

Step 2. Click on the Proxy Settings search result.

Step 3. You’ll be given the choice of “Automatic Proxy Setup” or “Manual Proxy Setup”. For example purposes, we’ll be choosing “Manual Proxy Setup”.

Step 4. Turn on Use a proxy server.

Step 5. Enter your proxy’s “Hostname” or “IP address”. This is the first part before the semicolon, which in our example is “premium-residential.geonode.com”.

Step 6. Enter your proxy’s “Port Number”. This is the second part before the semicolon, which in our example is “9001”.

Step 7. Enter any “website addresses” you would like to visit without a proxy.
If you want to access a local server without a proxy, turn on the Don’t use the proxy server for local addresses check box.

Step 8. Click “Save”.

Step 9. Lastly, go to youtube.com and a pop-up window will appear asking for your account credentials. Enter your account’s “Username” and “Password”. Then, click on “Sign In”.
macOS’s Proxy Settings

Step 1. Click on the ”Apple Icon”.

Step 2. On the drop-down menu, click on “System Preferences”.

Step 3. Click on “Network”.

Step 4. Click on “Advanced” Note: Make sure to connect to your wi-fi first.

Step 5. Click on “Proxies”.

Step 6. Select the correct protocol that you’ll be using. For our example, we’ll be selecting “Web Proxy (HTTP)”.

Step 7. Enter your proxy’s “Hostname” or “IP address”. This is the first part before the semicolon, which in our example is “premium-residential.geonode.com”.

Step 8. Enter your proxy’s “Port Number”. This is the second part before the semicolon, which in our example is “9001”.

Step 9. Turn on “Proxy server requires password”.

Step 10. Enter your proxy account’s “Username” and “Password”.
iPhone’s Proxy Settings

Step 1. Go to your Iphone’s “Settings” app.

Step 2. Click on “Wifi”.

Step 3. Connect to the wi-fi network you want to use a proxy with and then tap on it again.

Step 4. Scroll down to the bottom and you will see the “HTTP Proxy” option.

Step 5. Click on “Manual” or “Auto”. For our purposes, we’ll be choosing “Manual”.

Step 6. Enter your proxy’s “Hostname” or “IP address”. This is the first part before the semicolon, which in our example is “premium-residential.geonode.com”.

Step 7. Enter your proxy’s “Port number”. This is the second part before the semicolon, which in our example is “9001”.

Step 8. Turn on the “Authentication” button.

Step 9. Enter your proxy account’s “Username” and “Password”.
Android’s Proxy Settings

Step 1. Go to your “Settings” app.

Step 2. Tap on “Connections”. Other Android devices might have this as “Network and Internet” or simply “Wifi”.

Step 3. Click on “Wi-Fi”. Other Android devices might have this as “Internet”.

Step 4. Click on the “Settings” icon beside the network you want to use a proxy on. For other Android devices without the icon, you just have to tap the network.

Step 5. Click on “View More”. Other Android devices might have this as “Advanced Options” or an “Edit” button at the top right corner.

Step 6. Click on “Proxy”.

Step 7. Click on “Manual” or “Auto-Config”. For our purposes, we’ll be choosing “Manual”.

Step 8. Enter your proxy’s “Hostname” or “IP address”. This is the first part before the semicolon, which in our example is “premium-residential.geonode.com”.

Step 9. Enter your proxy’s “Port number”. This is the second part before the semicolon, which in our example is “9001”.

Step 10. Enter any websites or domains you don’t want to use a proxy on.

Step 11. Click on “Save”.

Step 12. Turn the Wi-Fi off and on again. Open a mobile browser, visit any website and a notification will appear asking for your proxy account’s authentication details. Input your proxy account credentials here.
Congratulations! You have now set up a proxy server for use whenever you access the internet.
