Geo targeting
Country targeting
Target a country when assigning a proxy IP. This is a username flag on the proxy connection (proxy.geonode.io), not a separate HTTP management API.
Auth
Use your Geonode proxy username and password with the proxy URL.
Username syntax
| Form | Example username suffix |
|---|---|
| Country | -country-US |
<geonode_username>-country-<COUNTRY_CODE>:<geonode_password>Country codes are ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 (for example US, DE, GB).
You can combine with other flags such as -type-residential (place type before or with other flags as your dashboard export shows).
Parameters
| Name | In | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
geonode_username | proxy user | yes | Dashboard proxy username (before flags) |
geonode_password | proxy user | yes | Dashboard proxy password |
country | username flag | yes | ISO country code |
port | proxy URL | yes | Proxy port from your plan / dashboard |
Example
curl -x "http://proxy.geonode.io:<port>" \
--proxy-user "<geonode_username>-country-US:<geonode_password>" \
"http://ip-api.com/json"Response
The example URL is ip-api.com (egress IP check), not a Geonode API schema.
