ZIP targeting

Proxies

Target a ZIP or postal code inside a country. This is a username flag on proxy.geonode.io, not a separate HTTP management API.

Auth

Use your Geonode proxy username and password with the proxy URL.

Username syntax

FormExample username suffix
Country + ZIP-country-US-zip-10001
<geonode_username>-country-<COUNTRY>-zip-<zipcode>:<geonode_password>

ZIP values accept letters and numbers only — no spaces or hyphens (for example 10001, not 10001-1234).

Rules

  • Country is required. Without -country-, ZIP targeting is ignored.
  • ZIP targeting overrides city, state/region, and ASN targeting when combined.
  • You can still combine ZIP with IP type flags such as -type-residential.

Parameters

geonode_passwordproxy useryesDashboard proxy password
countryusername flagyesISO country code (for example US)
zipusername flagyesZIP / postal code (letters and numbers only)

Example

curl -x "http://proxy.geonode.io:<port>" \
  --proxy-user "<geonode_username>-country-US-zip-10001:<geonode_password>" \
  "http://ip-api.com/json"

Response

ip-api.com egress check (not a Geonode schema).

Example with -country-US-zip-10001 (zip: "10001", New York):

{
  "status": "success",
  "country": "United States",
  "countryCode": "US",
  "region": "NY",
  "regionName": "New York",
  "city": "New York",
  "zip": "10001",
  "lat": 40.7503,
  "lon": -74.0014,
  "timezone": "America/New_York",
  "isp": "Corporacion Laceibanetsociety",
  "org": "IT ISP",
  "as": "AS263740 Corporacion Laceibanetsociety",
  "query": "186.65.115.77"
}

-zip-10001 without -country- did not apply ZIP targeting (egress was outside the US). Always include country.

Useful fields: zip, city, countryCode, query.
