Exclude ZIP
ProxiesExclude specific ZIP or postal codes when assigning a proxy IP. This is a username flag on the proxy connection (proxy.geonode.io), not a separate HTTP management API.
Auth
Use your Geonode proxy username and password with the proxy URL.
Username syntax
| Form | Example username suffix |
|---|---|
| Single ZIP | -not.zip-10001 |
| Multiple ZIPs | -not.zip-10001,10002 |
| ZIP exclusion inside a country | -country-US-not.zip-10001,10002 |
Full proxy user string shape (with country targeting):
<geonode_username>-country-<COUNTRY>-not.zip-<zip>[,<zip>...]:<geonode_password>ZIP values accept letters and numbers only — no spaces or hyphens.
Rules
- Use only one exclusion type per request. Do not combine
-not.zip-with-not.country-,-not.state-,-not.city-, or-not.asn-. - You can combine positive
-country-targeting with-not.zip-. - Prefer including
-country-so exclusion is scoped (same pattern as other exclude flags).
Parameters
| Name | In | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
geonode_username | proxy user | yes | Dashboard proxy username (before flags) |
geonode_password | proxy user | yes | Dashboard proxy password |
country | username flag | recommended | ISO country code to scope routing (for example US) |
not.zip | username flag | yes | Comma-separated ZIP / postal codes to exclude |
port | proxy URL | yes | Proxy port from your plan / dashboard |
Example
curl -x "http://proxy.geonode.io:<port>" \
--proxy-user "<geonode_username>-country-US-not.zip-10001,10002:<geonode_password>" \
"http://ip-api.com/json"Response
The example URL is ip-api.com (IP check). The JSON is that service’s view of the egress IP, not a Geonode API schema.
zip should not be one of the excluded codes when exclusion is applied successfully.
