Below is a step-by-step process for setting up a proxy server in Windows, focusing on using the built-in options within Windows 10 or 11.

Step 1: Whitelist Your IP Address

Before setting up a proxy, you must whitelist your current IP to avoid authentication pop-ups.

Step 2: Get Proxy Server Details

To configure the proxy, you need the Proxy IP and Port from the Geonode Dashboard.

Step 3: Open Proxy Settings in Windows

Click the Windows Search Bar and type: “Change proxy settings”

Click on Manual Proxy Setup

Step 4: Enter Proxy Details

A popup window will open:

Enter the Proxy IP and Port you copied from the Geonode Dashboard.

Click Save.

Step 5: Check if the Proxy is Working

  1. Go to https://www.showmyip.com/

  2. Check your IP address

If the setup works, your IP will change to the proxy location

If you encounter any issues, refer to the troubleshooting section or Geonode support.
